| Description: | From Flower Mart at Mount Vernon Place Website: Flower Mart returns to Mount Vernon Place on May 3-4, 2019 and will be managed this year for the first time by the Mount Vernon Place Conservancy!
This beautiful painting of the 1915 Flower Mart was painted by Baltimore artist Griffith Baily Coale. The event was begun just several years before, in 1911, by the Women's Civic League in order to encourage home gardens and the greening of the city.
