A NEW EVENT, PROVEN LEADERSHIP

Most know that when food is prepared over an open flame, it is no longer just cooking, it becomes an art-form. Additionally, hosting a successful BBQ competition is also an art that takes an array of skills, talent and experience. Smokin on the Dock of the Bay is being professionally organized and executed to the highest of standards to ensure the chefs can produce their perfect masterpieces that will be judged, and, that attendees will have an awesome time! Even though this is the first time the Friends of Crisfield and Somers Cove Marina has hosted a BBQ cooking competition, we are certain this will be a huge success. How can we be so confident? One name, Sandy Fulton, the coordinator for this event. She was the original event coordinator for Pork in the Park and not only did she make this the LARGEST BBQ COMPETITION ON THE EAST COAST, she made Pork in the Park one of the largest festivals of any type held on the mid-Delmarva Peninsula. This, along with the other competitions she's coordinated, speaks for themselves.

If you've competed in BBQ competitions around the Mid-Atlantic region you will most likely know Sandy. If you've attended a BBQ festival in the area one that was well run and successful you may have seen Sandy orchestrating the event, and doing it all with her glowing smile. Sandy is well-known and highly respected among the BBQ competition circuit and is an authorized event coordinator for the Kansas City Barbecue Society which has over 450 sanctioned events each year and more than 19,000 members spanning the globe.
